Anonymous followed up on its threat to out people it believes are KKK members with the release of hundreds of names on Pastebin.
The hackers collective threatened late last month to expose the names as part of the on-going feud between it and the white supremacist group.
Anonymous released some data it had compiled from the list.
“The Ku Klux Klan has approximately 150 active cells, operating in 41 states, with membership concentrated in both the South and the Midwest. The KKK is not what it once was but it does continue to survive in various locations throughout the United States. At its peak, membership was in the millions. Now, membership is likely less than 5,000,” the group said.
The fight between the KKK and Anonymous began during the unrest in Ferguson last year when the Klan said it would attack the Ferguson protesters, an NBC story said. Anonymous then hacked a KKK-linked account grabbing member names and media account information.
