Amazon Web Services (AWS) is partnering with Capgemini to deliver website testing as-a-service.
Capgemini will allow clients to test their websites across different simulated environments on an AWS cloud in an effort to ensure sites are reliable and secure.
Capgemini managing director Deepak Nangia said the service was superior to typical test-driven deployments. "Our program developer teams range between 10 to 200 people. That's the kind of scale we can deliver.
"We have almost 50 percent of any project spend going into testing. Organisations such as banks and public organisations are extremely cautious when it comes to testing," Deepak told CRN.
By running dev-tests on the AWS cloud, businesses can free up valuable resources, deploy testing environments on demand and easily move development environments to the cloud between testing phases.
Terry Wise, head of global partner ecosystem at AWS, said Capgemini's testing methodologies would lower infrastructure costs for companies.
"We give Capgemini tools to manage capacity and billing based on their storage use of the platform. They've got the skills and expertise to produce the best solution and they're an expert as using the pricing models we've put together," Wise told CRN.
Capgemini has a record of delivering large-scale testing. In 2012, ANZ Bank consolidated 40 outsourcing deals and transferred 360 staff to Capgemini under a managed services agreement for IT testing and environment management.
