Alex West lands at Critical Infrastructure Consulting

Alex West has been appointed head of infrastructure advisory at Critical Infrastructure Consulting (CIC).

CIC provides independent advisory services focused on fibre connectivity strategy for data centre developments and digital infrastructure projects.

West was previously chief executive at Swoop, a role he held for six-and-a-half years before leaving last month.

Prior to this, he worked at Superloop, holding group COO and head of transformation and integration roles, and Vocus, holding head of operations, corporate and wholesale and COO roles.

"Very few people in this market have built the networks, run them and then sat in the chair that had to fund them," the company said in a post on LinkedIn.

"That matters because our clients' problems are physical before they are commercial. Route and duct access. Carrier density. What it actually takes to get diverse fibre into a site, and what it costs when that thinking arrives after the land is bought."
