Acronis has launched several new data protection products for virtual, physical and cloud environments using their AnyData technology.
Acronis claims that AnyData, developed over 10 years and from over 50 patents, is a suite of individual products that work together to offer complete data protection.
The solution delivers a set of tools for backing up and restoring data on workstations and physical and virtual servers. It can work with Windows and Linux systems with a variety of filesystems. It can work with cloud, on-premise, and remote servers.
The solution captures all data giving users the choice of full, incremental or differential backup. It also tracks operating system I/O requests and restores blocks when the OS needs them, continuing to restore other blocks in the background. This allows booting a machine and starting applications long before a restore is complete.
This modular approach to the software allows organisations to only buy what they need - without the unnecessary complexity and upfront investment of a platform.
