The gigantified HTC One, better known as the the HTC One Max or T6, has been leaked by notorious smartphone snoopster @evleaks in what appears to be a genuine press shot.
At first glance you'll be forgiven for thinking that you're just looking at a HTC One press shot. Dual front-facing Boomsound speakers, gorgeous design and HTC Sense 5's Blinkfeed are all present and accounted for.
Take a closer look, however, and you'll notice that the front-facing ambient light and proximity sensors are missing from the top left. The volume buttons have also been separated, losing the shiny brushed metal finish they have on the One.
The eagle-eyed among you will also have noticed that the camera flash has moved directly beneath the lens as opposed to being on the side.
We're not too concerned with the lack of the Beats Audio and certification logos on the back, which suggests that this is an early render. That might also explain why the two front-facing sensors are missing, as a reportedly real photo of an actual HTC One Max handset shows that the front-facing sensors are actually present.
We've tried to illustrate roughly how big the HTC One Max stacks up against the HTC One and HTC One Mini, and it definitely falls into the upper ends of the phablet roster, standing in the same weight class as the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Huawei Ascend Mate and Samsung Galaxy Mega.
Still, this is all best taken with a pinch of salt for the time being, until the HTC One Max's official reveal which could be as early as IFA next month. With the Max reportedly packing a rumoured Snapdragon 800 processor, bigger battery and the same 4MP Ultrapixel camera as the current HTC One, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should have a solid fight on its hands in Berlin next month.
