HP's Spectre went on sale in the US and Canada last week, following last year's launch of HP's first ultrabook, the Folio 13.
The Spectre runs on Windows 7 but is upgradeable to Windows 8 when the OS is released. It will launch in Australia in late February through JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman.
Its the first laptop to ship with a stain-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass lid. Which is unfortunately susceptible to fingerprint marks, as you can see.
The Spectre carries Beats Audio system with 2 high-performance speakers and subwoofer.
Both the Spectre and the Folio have a nine-hour battery life.
Spectre has a mini display port, a USB 3.0 port, and one microphone/headphone stereo jack.
It runs on Intel Core i5 and i7 ULV processors and has a 128GB or 256GB SSD.
It carries a backlit keyboard and display.
