Blue Central provides enterprise-grade infrastructure-as-a-service with core components being physical and virtual servers, networking, storage and security. All products are delivered in a consumption model.

We partner with NextDC nationally with our core products located in Sydney and Melbourne.
When did your company first get involved in this area?
Blue Central (previously Destra) began hosting applications in 2002.
What are your credentials around hosting data centre services?
Our certifications reflect our customer requirements. Recently we have had our technologies and facilities tested under ISO 27001, DSD ISM, Tier3 Uptime, APRA Best Practices and PCI/DSS.
Have you heard about any interesting trends in this space lately?
We are starting to see a trend in hybrid cloud and data centre co-location as a means to selectively choose which workloads to outsource and bring both the customer’s managed and outsourced workloads closer together. Cool products from NextDC, such as OneDC and month-by-month racks, really help deliver this.
Can you tell us about a recent deployment you have been involved in?
We tend to attract mission-critical workloads or bespoke workloads because of our product range and flexibility. We recently deployed and are now hosting an airline ticketing and check-in application for a large Australian airline with variable workloads based on a number of uncontrollable factors.
What is driving customers' uptake around these services?
The largest driver is that businesses want to focus on outcomes and IT facilitating their business. To do this, they need a hosting provider that doesn’t just offer them the infrastructure but a product set and a range of managed services that aligns with their business goals.
