Cirrus Networks: Data centres are driving a networking boom

With sales and business development group executive Grahame Gilson.

What networking brands and related services do you specialise in?

Cirrus Networks' strategic partners are Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper and Citrix. We carry a range of services to support this, including advisory and integration through to a range of managed services to meet customer outcomes.

When did your company first get involved in this area?

From when we established the business in 2013. Our networking reputation grew dramatically from the acquisition of L7 Solutions from Vocus in December 2015.

What credentials does your business have in networking?

We carry the full range of engineering certifications to support all of our vendor platforms. We are a Cisco Gold Partner, Palo Alto Gold Partner and Juniper Elite Partner.

Who are your distributors?

Our key distributors are Ingram, Westcon Comstor and Arrow.

What is the most interesting new development in networking?

Software-defined networking is really starting to gain traction. With the rapid progress of AI, we are starting to see development in managed networks that report, predict and even self-repair issues.

Can you tell us about a deployment that you have done recently?

Cirrus has recently designed, implemented and now manages a BCP/DR solution for Pilbara Ports Authority across a number of disparate locations, with next-generation architecture that provides the highest levels of availability for their customers to export various commodities.

What is driving customers’ networking projects?

Organisations are starting to focus more on Network Access Control, and the ability to manage who and what gain access to systems. Also, data centre infrastructure upgrades and the move towards converged fabrics are generating a significant amount of network projects.

Networking is…

Rapidly evolving into a centralised, policy-based and automated solution.
