Optus Business has acquired Sydney-based Microsoft Gold Partner Ensyst, in a further sign of the carrier’s growing cloud services aspirations.
The telco will take over an 80-person firm that earned the title of Australian Country Partner of the Year at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Awards in 2014. Ensyst has offices in Sydney and Melbourne and expertise across Lync, Office 365 and Sharpoint.
The aggregate consideration for the acquisition is approximately $13 million, subject to working capital adjustments. The acquisition is subject to certain conditions.
Ensyst’s claims to fame also include being one of seven Australian partners in the first batch of Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners.
The firm boasts a customer base across financial services, education, government, health, construction and mining, manufacturing and services sectors.
The firm has experience designing, building and managing multiple cloud environments, according to Optus Business managing director, John Paitaridis.
He stated that Ensyst's expertise will complement the telco's ICT business, "particularly in Cloud, Collaboration, and Business Applications and Services.”
