Huawei's Australian team must have been patting themselves on the back on the weekend, after managing to kit out the Canberra Raiders in a special one-off charity "Golden Jersey" for Sunday's game against the North Queensland Cowboys.
While the NRL team's jersey has been emblazoned with Huawei name for some time, it's the first time the sponsorship has focussed on one product, said a spokesperson.
Given the Raiders usually take to the field in a green, the move no doubt grabbed the attention of plenty of fans.
The jerseys were to be auctioned on 26 May with the money going to Tour de Cure.
Huawei Australia corporate affairs director, Jeremy Mitchell said he was "thrilled the Raiders have been willing to try something different."
Huawei must be happy with the choice of game - the Raiders defeated the Cowboys 42-12.
The Ascend G6 will be launched locally in June, according to Huawei.
