Aussie wireless vendor cracks US

Australian vendor NetComm Wireless has broken into the machine-to-machine market in the US.

The company has forged a strategic partnership with distributor Synnex to provide its NWL-11 router to Verizon Wireless' sales channel.

The NWL-11 router upgrades business equipment with machine-to-machine intelligence. This means employees can access analytics relevant to machines, assets and premises remotely.

NetComm said the router would appeal to a variety of industries, such as transportation, utilities, financial services, health, security and retail.

Chief executive David Stewart said: "Growing our M2M business in the US is one of our key strategic priorities and our relationship."

Stewart praised the company's distribution partner Synnex. "Synnex significantly strengthens our position and extends our reach across North America."

Synnex VP Adnon Dow said: "By joining forces with NetComm Wireless, our resellers can effectively meet the growing demand for open non-proprietary platform M2M technologies with the flexibility to support specific business functions.
