NTT Communications has officially launched its Australian arm, called NTT Com ICT Solutions.
The new name brings together its three local NTT subsidiaries: Frontline Systems, Harbour MSP and NTT Australia.
The announcement confirms a report from CRN last week, when NTT Communications' director of sales and marketing, Michael Fortescue, revealed the three businesses were "in the process of integrating to become one company".
NTT Communications acquired a majority 70 percent stake in Frontline and Harbour MSP in December 2011. The purchase gave NTT Communications a footprint in four Australian cities.
Frontline chief executive Monte Davis will head up NTT Com.
Davis said the company had hired 12 new employees and that it will open two new Australian offices.
"Australia is a key growth market for us, and know that growth is best achieved through our people, services and customer relations. Part of this growth includes expanding our services nationally. We're also currently planning new premises in both Sydney and in the Melbourne CBD."
The company announced it had invested $15 million in improving its services: $2 million towards security services, $5 million towards its public cloud offering, and a further $8 million in on-premise utility computing.
Davis said the rebranding would help deliver an improved customer experience.
"One of the major benefits to customers is one point of contact – rather than the hassle of dealing with multiple suppliers. We've already seen customers benefit from our complete service offering."
The news of the Australian rebranding comes on the heels of NTT Communication's two data centre-focussed acquisitions, worth almost $1 billion.
