Telstra and Vodafone will join Optus in offering Samsung's Galaxy S Android smartphone within weeks.
iTnews has learned the handset will be available through Vodafone from August.
A separate version of the Galaxy S will also be tailored to suit Telstra's 850 MHz NextG network.
Samsung launched the handset in Australia yesterday.
It will initially be exclusive to Optus during July on the carrier's $59 ‘yes' Social plan for $0 upfront with 1GB data/month, unlimited Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and MySpace access.
The phone comes with the Swype touchscreen keyboard, built-in productivity apps and a 4" Super AMOLED screen which is 0.5" larger than the recently released iPhone 4.
The phone also boasts a 1Ghz CPU, 16GB internal memory (with the ability to add 32GB extra) and DLNA connectivity - which allows users to access and share video, images and sound files with other DLNA devices like a shared Network Attached Storage (NAS) drive or an HDTV for a business presentation.
