Telstra has announced that the Android-powered HTC Desire smartphone will be available next month exclusively on the telco's Next G network.
From 27 April, HTC Desire will be available for $0 on Telstra's $60 consumer Phone Plan for 24 months or can be purchased outright with a of $779.
Business customers can also purchase HTC Desire on a $65 plan for 24 months which includes 300MB of data.
"HTC Desire continues HTC's leadership in cutting-edge phone design and function," said Anthony Petts, sales and marketing director ANZ at HTC.
Some of the applications included are a newsreader application and widget, a seven-screen ‘helicopter' thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens, and the HTC Friend Stream' - to aggregates Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates.
"Not only can customers select from a massive ecosystem of free and paid-for applications from the Android Market - as well as Telstra apps like Mobile FOXTEL- but they can completely re-configure how shortcuts and applications appear on their phone," said Ross Fielding, executive director, Mobility Products, Telstra.
