Sanderson to head Ingram Micro UK

Matthew Sanderson, Ingram Micro's senior director of its volume business and consumer units, will take the role of managing director at Ingram Micro UK.

He starts on 4 January but will begin the transition from Australia on 1 December.

In an email to staff, Ingram Micro Australia CEO Jay Miley said he was "thrilled" for Sanderson but acknowledged that "we are losing a very talented and valuable member of our team. Matt has done a superb job for Ingram Micro Australia. Over the last five years, he has made many positive contributions to the organisation, too many in fact to name here.

"Suffice it to say, his drive, dedication, and commitment to excellence has helped Ingram Micro Australia become the leader it is today in the Australian IT channel."

Sanderson replaces Julian Klein, who left in June. The head of Ingram Micro's Miami Export Group, Pablo Suarez, was meant to replace him but instead took a job at rival distributor Bell.

Sanderson will report to another new appointment, Johan Vandenbussche, regional vice president of Benelux and UK, who reports to EMEA president of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Sanderson, who was educated at the University of Northampton, will oversee Ingram's offices in Milton Keynes and Maidenhead and its distribution centre in Daventry.

"We are very pleased to be welcoming Matt back to Europe and to his native England," Maquet said.

"Matt is a seasoned professional with a long track record of success within Ingram Micro and within the IT distribution industry.

"He is an excellent addition to our management team given his understanding of the UK. marketplace, as well as his global experience gained through our Australia business."
