What information security solutions do you supply?

We are a Premier RSA partner, one of only two Elite McAfee partners in Australia, and a top-tier Palo Alto partner. We also sell other security products such as Entrust, ZScaler, Imperva, Aruba, Check Point, Blue Coat, Juniper and Clearswift.

What are your infosec credentials?

We are one of fewer than eight QSA auditors in Australia. We have PCI DSS certifications. We have a full range of RSA certifications and also hold the highest-level certifications across four McAfee product groups. We also have CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001/2 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester and Certified Ethical Hacker.

When did your company first get involved in security?

Loop started in the security business over 25 years ago and was the first RSA reseller in Australia.

What's an infosec trend you've been hearing about?

Our coolest technology is our team. Our penetration testers continue to amaze with the way they almost always manage to find their way into organisations and their applications, often right past a significant array of security technologies.

Can you tell us about a recent project?

A state-based government agency came to us with concerns their IT staff were reading the emails of the management team and accessing private documents. Using our cloud-based security monitoring service, we were able to monitor the logs of these associated systems, generate appropriate alerts and reports to identify the malicious insiders.

What is driving customers towards security projects?

Recent breaches such as at Target have shown that even firms that have made significant investments in security and are PCI compliant – as Target was – are still vulnerable. Australia still lags well behind most developed countries when it comes to data protection, particularly in the area of health records.

The most rapidly changing area in information technology. No other area changes as rapidly and as dramatically. Many of the security threats that exist today were unknown only a short time ago.
