Websense has released Express Delivers Intelligent, Easy to Deploy Web Security and Content Filtering to organisations with fewer than 500 employees, through the channel.
Security vendor Websense has released Websense Express, priced and optimised for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), as well as new resources tailored for customers and the channel partners who advise them.
Through the new product SMB organisations, with less then 500 employees will have access to the vendor’s ThreatSeeker technology. The product range is designed to manage business Internet use – protecting organisations from emerging Web security threats while bolstering network bandwidth and productivity.
Joel Camissar, country manager Australia and New Zealand, said the move to secure SMBs is part of a corporate strategy to provide its ‘enterprise-class’ Web security and content filtering solutions to previously underserved organisations.
“SMBs face the same operational and security challenges as larger enterprises, but they have fewer resources at their disposal,” said Camissar. With this new software, Websense is protecting SMB customers from data loss caused by Web-based security threats and business-draining activities caused by unfettered Internet access.”
For channel partners, Camissar said the Websense Express Solution gives annual subscription revenue.
“So resellers can sell a solution knowing they will make high recurring profitability year after year from their customers. As Websense Express has been designed with the needs of the SMB market in mind, channel partners are providing a solution that gives; out of the box security filtering; simple manageability and reporting on Web usage,” he said.
Websense will also provide an on-line channel portal with special resources to help educate the partners. These include access to the 'Websense University" free training courses, risk assessment services, installation tutorials, and contacts within Websense Australia to assist them, said Camissar.
“Websense, through its distributor itX, are looking at actively recruiting more SMB partners to service this growing market. We have an attractive program offering annual subscription revenue streams for great profitability,” he said.
Websense Express is available today in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. Pricing for a 50 user license is AUD$1,250 excluding GST.
