Synnex and Acer team up
The distribution deal will come into effect from the 2nd of June.

The deal marks the first change to Acer’s distribution channels since 2004 and will see Synnex distributing Acer’s PC, server and display portfolio. The two will actively target the whitebox, SMB and SOHO markets.

Greg Mikaelian, general manager for channel sales at Acer, said the partnership was key to the company’s expansion strategy in the Australian market.

“In an ever changing market, with variable growth in different market segments, this partnership with Synnex is very strategic in our quest to not only address but dominate the small office, home office and the small to medium business markets in Australia,” he said.

Kee Ong, CEO of Synnex, said the Synnex team is excited about the new partnership.

“With our advanced logistics capabilities we offer customers a superior service. From the time an order is placed to the moment of despatch, Synnex provides a rapid and efficient response to meet our client requirements. In addition, Synnex‘s extremely efficient after sales capability ensures customers receive professional support," he said.

"We see our innovative business practices and our new relationship with Acer as a further commitment to provide IT resellers with the highest standard of products and services both now and in the future.”

Synnex is also launching its online C-Commerce portal in June. Resellers will be able to use the portal to configure, customise and order Acer PC and server solutions.

Arthur Gimisis, national sales manager at Synnex, said: “The first of the Synnex Alliance Road show events for 2008 provides an ideal venue for launching the Synnex / Acer partnership."

The Synnex Alliance Roadshow begins in Perth on the 10th of June. Brisbane will host the event on the 15th of July, while Sydney and Melbourne will follow later.
