The company today announced two new endpoint management suites; the Altiris Client Management Suite 7.0 and Altiris Server Management Suite 7.0.
Craig Scroggie vice president and managing director Symantec Pacific said the suites offer a more collaborative tool for the end user helping realise significant cost savings and value for existing IT investments.
Symantec said its current partners Data#3, ComputerCorp and Thomas Durea will continue to support them within the channel. It will operate a two tier distribution model.
Scroggie added the company is looking to hire new staff. It currently has vacancies for technical support staff, channel roles, sales and field sales in Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, and Melbourne and needs a system integrator in New Zealand.
Talking about the new Altiris products, Scroggie said: "There are lots of products in Altiris but we have bundled them up in the suites, which is more cost effective.
"Express Data are very good specialists with a depth of expertise to support our needs and provide specialist pricing. They have the skills and expertise to manage the whole portfolio."
New features in the Client Management Suite 7.0 include; intelligent software management, increased platform coverage, integrated power management and advanced systems management technologies.
New features in the Server Management Suite 7.0 include; integrated performance monitoring, consolidated event management and new scheduling and change management.
