Sydney cloud provider Hosted Network has become an early adopter of all-flash arrays from Solidfire – to power its VMware-based virtual desktop offering.
Hosted Network is white-labelling this desktop-as-a-service for its channel of managed service providers (MSP) and systems integrators.
Ben Town, managing director of Hosted Network, based in the suburb of Minchinbury, praised the flash vendor's performance.
"SolidFire is the backbone of our data centre. It’s the only storage platform that can handle our dense workload consolidation and our staggering I/O requirements while still ensuring that every application gets the performance it needs, no matter what other demands are being placed on the platform."
Hosted Network's VDI solution is based on VMware Horizon desktop virtualisation suite.
The Sydney company's hosted desktops combine centralised desktop/laptop environment with a fully managed service and centralised administration of IT support, software updates and provisioning.
Hosted Network is a division of Superior IT, a seven-year-old reseller and MSP that also offer website design though its Exia business unit.
