Security vendor SonicWALL has promoted Chris Barton to regional manager for Australia/New Zealand, replacing Tim Dickinson, who left the company last week.
Barton has been working at the company for the past eight months and was previously its channel manager for the region. He now reports directly to Antony Chapman, senior director at SonicWALL APAC/MEA.
As regional manager, Barton is also responsible for the company’s business in the Pacific Islands.
"Tim has left us in a strong position in terms of market share and channel strategy. Our new SSL VPN appliances — we’ve had a lot of success with them," he said.
Previously, Barton was NSW state business development manager at Sophos where he built a channel and won business in the government, corporate and finance sectors, SonicWALL said.
Dickinson was not available for comment at press time.
