SNIA ANZ adds Sun to its board
The appointment means the SNIA ANZ's membership includes all the major storage vendors.

"We have been watching the growth of SNIA ANZ with a great deal of interest and feel the time is right for Sun Microsystems to participate and influence the direction of the education and promotional programmes,” said Clarke.

“SNIA ANZ has a lot to offer customers looking for an independent source of knowledge and information about storage and information management technologies, and Sun is determined to play its part in supporting the Association in achieving its goals," he added.

Clarke previously worked for StorageTek both in Australia and the UK for eight years prior to the acquisition by Sun in 2005.

He has been the storage practice manager at Sun Microsystems since January 2006 and is responsible for Sun's storage business in ANZ.

Clarke also has experience of SNIA having supported some of the end user activities in Europe.

"Anthony's experience in the storage industry will be invaluable in driving our strategic initiatives of promoting storage standards, best practices and educational services,” said Craig Scroggie chair of SNIA ANZ.

“We are very pleased to welcome Anthony to the Board of Directors and Sun Microsystems to SNIA ANZ."

The SNIA is a not-for-profit global organisation made up of more than 420 active member companies plus their worldwide affiliates and close to 7,100 active individuals spanning virtually the entire storage industry.
