Panasonic Australia has promoted Steve Rust to the position of managing director.
CRN reported in March 2006 that Panasonic Australia had appointed ex-Ingram Micro managing director Steve Rust to the position of deputy managing director. Before joining Panasonic Rust also held senior management roles at Nortel Networks, Apple and Toshiba.
Rust has now been promoted to oversee all Panasonic company operations with divisional directors reporting to him.
Toshiro Kisaka, the current managing director of Panasonic Australia, has been promoted to the position of director, corporate management division, for Asia and Oceania.
Rust said: “I’m proud to be taking up this new role at a very exciting and dynamic time for Panasonic, with significant opportunities for growth across our Consumer Electronics and Business Systems divisions.”
Kisaka said: “I congratulate Steve on his appointment, and in my new regional role, I look forward to supporting his key business strategies for the Australian market.”
Panasonic Australia has also announced the appointment of Shinichi Fujimoto as the new deputy managing director.
The new positions will become effective from 1 April.
