Fuji Xerox veteran Andy Berry has been appointed managing director of Ricoh Australia, and will drive the office equipment vendor’s strategy in the Australian market.
Berry brings an IT career spanning more than 25 years, including 13 years with Fuji Xerox, beginning in Europe before rising to become chief customer officer at Fuji Xerox Australia. His most recent position was with business strategy consultancy Trivium Solutions in the role of managing principal. He was also principal consultant with management firm Second Road.
Berry will replace John Hall, who left the role last month into retirement. Hall had been managing director of Ricoh’s Australian team for more than two years, and previously led MSP Lanier Australia for 13 years, before its acquisition by Ricoh Australia.
Ricoh Asia Pacific managing director Kazuhisa Goto said Berry’s appointment had come at a critical time in Australia’s business transformation.
“As an accomplished whole-of-business leader, [Berry] brings domain expertise and a proven track record of leading change while achieving solid growth,” he said.
“Berry’s ability to lead with a clear vision backed by a unified team has made him the success he is today; his deep knowledge of global services and market trends will be integral in driving Ricoh forward in this age of the customer. At the same time, his energetic and results driven style combined with his customer-centric approach will strengthen Ricoh’s transformational journey."
Berry said there was an important job ahead for Ricoh and embraced the opportunity to be a part of the company’s next phase.
“The traditional print market continues to offer a significant opportunity for Ricoh and when coupled with a comprehensive set of workplace solutions and services across information technology services, print and document management we are enabling customers to change their traditional ways of working,” he said.
“I admire the Ricoh approach to understanding the changing needs of its customers and how it then applies innovation.
"At the same time, the company balances the strength of its global scale with belief in the local team and the importance of their enduring relationships with customers, channels and partners.”
