Progress moves A/NZ partners onto SaaS model
Progress Software is keen to transition more of its Australia and New Zealand partners onto software as a service (SaaS) model.

The vendor claimed its SaaS empowerment programs have transformed Progress Application Partners (APs) to deliver on-demand applications based on Progress technology.

Progress has 13 Australian partners offering SaaS solutions, including Sterland Computing, Wild Rose and Ealth.

Jeremy Goddard, country manager for A/NZ at Progress told CRN the firm works with 45 business partners across Australia which develops applications, some of which roll the applications out to specific vertical markets.

“We are working on the continuing enhancement of our partners’ applications and transforming their applications to more web services. We are working on our SaaS model, where half of our partners are interested and a third already have something in place,” he said.

Goddard said the majority of Progress’ partners have a solid business plan and the firm will individualise each of its account plans for these partners.

“We will recruit new and existing partners for the SaaS model, but our main focus at the moment is our current partners’ business,” added Goddard.
