PKBA wins Onstream integration contract

Mark Stead, CEO of PKBA announced it won the IT infrastructure, applications and services contract.

"The contract will provide the vital integration of infrastructure and virtual environments for Tasmania's forthcoming water and sewerage industry amalgamations," he said.

"In this current economic climate, PKBA sees opportunities to work with business and government organisations to consolidate operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs."

Supporting five server rooms across Tasmania, Onstream required a single vendor solution to deploy and implement core applications and maintain and manage critical infrastructure and systems.

PKBA will deploy core infrastructure and applications across Tasmania, integrated in a virtualised VMware environment encompassing disaster recovery, ERP, document management and business critical IT services.

The scope of the managed services covers the design and implementation of the virtualised infrastructure environment.

"We have had a long term relationship with PKBA, who have transitioned from being one of our primary infrastructure suppliers to our full service IT provider," said David Byrne, ICT manager of Onstream.

"We required a solution that was flexible, scalable and reliable enough to meet our complex requirements. PKBA have been able to deliver in a very tight timeframe."

Byrne added that Onstream went through an extensive, competitive tender process.
