Networking vendor Netgear has secured a partnership with Optus to deliver wireless connectivity to the telco’s SOHO broadband customers.
Under the agreement the vendor will supply cable and ADSL wireless gateways and wireless USB adaptors to deliver high-speed Internet to Optus customers Australia-wide.
Ryan Parker, Australian country manager at Netgear said the vendor has been working with Optus for some time to formulate tailored cable and wireless platforms.
“Service providers have particular business requirements and we’ve focused existing resources into building the Service Provider Business unit to better meet the needs of our partners and their customers,” he said.
The latest partnership follows from the partnerships Netgear has established in Europe and the United States.
“Netgear’s success was based on its ability to provide customisation to the CPE to meet Optus’ technical and marketing requirements,” said Parker.
The ADSL bundled offering is available to Optus broadband customers now, while the cable offering will be available from early July.
