NSW govt streamlines ICT services procurement

The New South Wales government has streamlined how it procures IT services by merging some supplier categories.

NSW ProcurePoint yesterday revealed that the Procurement Technical Standards (PTx) subcategories in its ICT Services Scheme will be merged into existing scheme categories.

PTx subcategories require suppliers to meet a specified level of expertise or competency, in an effort to “achieve consistency in service offerings, improve interoperability and provide better value ICT investment” across the NSW govt, according to ProcurePoint.

Suppliers in the PTx subcategories will also be merged into the corresponding category supplier lists.

ProcurePoint said the change simplifies the procurement process by reducing the number of categories in the scheme.

Below are the scheme categories that will absorb the PTx subcategories:
