Microsoft has announced that all partners must provide annual anti-corruption training to staff that handle its products.
"All active Microsoft Partner Network organisations must provide annual anti-corruption training to employees that 'resell, distribute, market, or otherwise dispose of Microsoft products'," said Microsoft director of business excellence, Camille Mazo.
The change took effect in the 2014 MPN agreement, said Mazo in her post on the Worldwide Partner Conference 2014 blog.
"Microsoft holds both our own employees and partner employees to high ethical standards," Mazo said. "Anti-corruption training is fairly common among most, if not all, IT vendors with their partner communities."
Resellers that already conduct annual anti-corruption training for its employees can use it to certify compliance, but for others Microsoft is offering free assistance.
"For partner organisations without their own anti-corruption training, MPN offers a no-cost, online training course," said Mazo. "The course is available in the following languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Urdu, Romanian, and Ukrainian."
Mazo said that Microsoft relies on many third parties "including MPN members, channel partners, distributors, resellers, and developers" and that "we win together by doing business ethically and honestly".
