Andrew Johnson, MailGuard marketing director told CRN with around 250 resellers on its books, the vendor wants resellers with specific focus in various industries.
“We have a number of resellers and key partners like ISPs. What we want now are key partners with a focus on specific industry areas. For example we recently signed a reseller that only deals with the automotive industry,” he said.
According to Johnson these days companies of all sizes, incorporating all industry sectors, are showing concerns over web-based threats and web productivity. This is resulting in a growing demand for the company’s fully hosted and managed web-filtering service.
“Companies are seeking detailed ‘human readable’ reporting and help in controlling what their staff can browse, download, and when; as well as keeping the organisation safe from web viruses, junk, and offensive downloads or browsing activity,” he said. “Organisations are looking to manage what, in the past, was an ‘unmanaged’ resource – web browsing.
He told CRN WebGuard 2.0 eliminates web browsing abuse, offensive or pornographic browsing and time wasting. The service is managed through a web console, and generates daily and weekly reports as well as managing and logging people’s access to the Internet using content filtering rules and lists of sites to be allowed or blocked.
“Email or SMS alerts can also be set up to notify administrators immediately of excessive or inappropriate use,” he said.
