The company decided to hold the annual event locally to support the local economy during the Global Financial Crisis whereas, in the past the Summit has been held overseas.
Shaun Page, regional vice president A/NZ Juniper Networks said like many organisations, the company has cut back on travel and event related expenses.
"It's a different world, a different business climate and a different summit this year," he said.
However, he was keen to point out that the J-Partner event is a chance for executives and channel management staff to meet their partners and to share ideas about opportunities in the market.
Day one saw channel partners take part in group activities including golf or sailing followed by a meal for attendees.
Day two of the conference includes an overview of Juniper's strategy, R&D and Innovation Strategy.
A chance to discuss its marketing, channel, customer service and its partner program, resources and managed services.
Followed by sessions on the Distributed Enterprise Solution and Simplifying Data Centre Networks.
Jenny Eagle travelled to the conference as a guest of Juniper.
