HP has unveiled details of a solutions package for the SMB market called Total Care which will be available through its network of channel partners.
The vendor claimed Total Care is the end to end portfolio of support, options and programs, which aims to provide customers with a “differentiated and better experience with HP”.
Robert Kingston, group manager for PSG commercial product marketing for South Pacific at HP, said: “HP has invested a lot of money into the SMB space and a lot of investment in how SMB can work with us. SMBs tend not to have their own IT resources and they look to outsource. We are trying to help them grow their business.”
Kingston said that HP has outlined its three areas of focus for the coming year as green/energy efficiency; remote client computing and mobility. “Those three is what we have tried to capture in the Total Care offering,” added Kingston.
Grant Cleary, marketing director of PSG, said: “SMBs need great technology to be successful, along with the support and solutions to grow their business. There are 200 solutions that will be eventually launched under the Total Care umbrella. The idea round HP Total Care is: choose, use, protect and transition.”
The concept of 'choose' centres on the notion of offering advice, information and guides; 'use' covers the range of options, articles and online tools available; 'protect' is designed to enable SMBs to protect data from damage and theft; while 'transition' guides end-users on how to upgrade their IT systems.
“We are going to work with channel partners on how to get Total Care out to market. For the SMB market channel partners are essential, they are our lifeblood. Hopefully [Total Care] will strengthen our relationship with the channel. It is not a direct play,” said Cleary.
