Storage vendor Hitachi Data Systems has named its first-ever annual local partner award winners at its channel conference on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Kiwi infrastructure provider Revera was named partner of the year at the Sheraton Hotel in Noosa, with Melbourne-based Perfekt honoured as the solution partner of the year.
The regional partner gong was awarded to SureBridge IT, a reseller featured in CRN magazine earlier this year as having made the jump to the cloud after the Queensland floods in 2010. SureBridge IT's sales director Ian Irving is a former Hitachi staffer.
New partner of the year award went to North Sydney-base R1i.
“HDS recognises the power of the channel community as we continue to innovate to solve our customers' business challenges and look forward to expanding our awards program in years to come," said HDS’ country manager for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands Neil Evans.
Phillip Teague, HDS’s ANZ industry and alliance solutions director said that the ANZ channel had grown “about 30 percent” since last year’s partner conference. "We would like to congratulate this year's recipients and thank them for their ongoing dedication.”
In August, HDS joined forces with Avnet to put out a white-labelled cloud service for the channel. The vendor said in a statement that numerous partners had now joined that “ecosystem”, including award winner Perfekt, Availability Solutions and Gammer Group.
HDS sits under giant Japanese parent company Hitachi as the IT storage brand. HDS employs about 6,300 staff globally and claims to have business ”in more than 100 countries and regions”.
