Security outfit GFI Software has launched a formal channel partner program complete with a new deal registration system and the promise of improved profit margins.
GFI - a developer of network and content security and messaging software – has placed resellers in gold, silver and bronze levels based on quarterly revenue targets and sales and technical capabilities.
Gold and silver partners would be entitled to qualified sales leads. Resellers attain silver partner status if they meet the revenue threshold and have one sales and one technical person trained on staff.
Gold partners are required to have two sales and two technical staff trained in GFI’s software, said Michael Early, regional manager, A/NZ at GFI.
GFI markets a range of anti-spam, anti-phishing, email security and archiving, network security and monitoring, anti-virus, portable storage and device control software products.
Its debut product – GFI FAXmaker for Exchange was launched in 1995. The software lets users send and receive faxes and text messages from their email clients.
Early said the company had around 600 partners in Australia ranging from small consultancies to large integrators such as Commander, Computercorp and KAZ.
All local resellers buy direct from the company and there are no plans to appoint any distributors, Early said.
GFI has around 10 staff in Australia with its Asia-Pacific operations headquartered in Adelaide.
Former Websense president Curtis Staker was appointed as CEO in September last year.
