Duo still Ironkey's enterprise distie

Duo International will retain exclusive distribution of Ironkey enterprise products but share distie rights with Simms International for the vendor's personal and basic products.

Duo director Jackie Hatchwell confirmed the arrangements to CRN today.

"Ironkey is purely bringing on another distie to service more retail type channels," Hatchwell said.

"We were the first international distie for Ironkey but we've always focused on enterprise, corporate and government accounts, whereas Simms is more retail-focused.

"Simms has taken on joint distribution of personal and basic Ironkey devices only."

The Simms distie deal covers Australia only. Simms is perhaps best known as an Apple distributor, a channel other vendors have been keen to get access to.

Hatchwell was upbeat on the new arrangement.

"It's great with Simms out there doing Ironkey. It brings a whole new brand awareness for Ironkey in general, which I see as a positive for us," she said.

She said Duo had a number of "significant" enterprise deployments of Ironkey in A/NZ.

Hatchwell said that in addition to retaining its exclusive arrangement for enterprise products in Australia, Duo's New Zealand operation held exclusive rights to distribute the entire Ironkey portfolio there.

Ironkey is a USB flash drive that comes in-built with military-grade hardware encryption technology.
