Distribution Central has released the latest generation of its DC ChannelControl portal for Avaya, which includes geomapping of sales, as well as iPad and Android access on the way.

The distie demonstrated to CRN the updated system that includes a revamped Avaya Configurator by DC (ACDC), a quotation and sales portal, and Install Base & Analytics Management (IBAM), a renewals analytics tool.

ACDC now includes an online payment gateway that "fast-tracks the purchasing process" and predetermined packages of related items for faster ordering with minimal product knowledge.

IBAM has geo-tracked sales records going back to July 2004, allowing customer dossiers to be seen on a plotted map. IBAM is now available on iPad, with an Android version coming soon.

"It's now about making money, not saving money," said Nick Verykios, managing director of Distribution Central.

A statement from the company said: "DC’s systems can and have been tailored to specific partner requirements and combined with our install base and analytics management tool – DC IBAM – partners can manage the product lifecycle of their customers’ assets, never missing out on a customer opportunity."

Distribution Central hopes to eliminate shady sales practices with today's update of ChannelControl.

"The new system will make it difficult to franchise out second and third quotes, and this will reduce illegitimate practices," said Verykios.

The distie's software was highly regarded by the vendor Avaya, resulting in DC licensing the suite to other distributors in non-competing regions around the world, according to Verykios.

ACDC was first launched in November 2011 specifically for Avaya SME products.

"We quickly saw the benefits of ACDC in the Avaya channel when we launched three years ago and received positive and constructive feedback that we have taken on board," said Verykios. "We have continued our investment in the Avaya channel ensuring that our innovation in systems gives our Avaya partners a real competitive edge."

Brend Johnston, sales and marketing director of Avaya reseller Arrow Voice & Data said: "[We have] benefited from Distribution Central's systems since it launched its first quoting configurator."

"My team can access the system at any time, with real-time pricing and reports available to them," said Johnston.

Distribution Central reported revenue of $250 million last year. Its 120 employees are spread across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
