DiData hires Express Data veteran for cloud channel role
Donna Adam, Dimension Data

Dimension Data has recruited 20-year Express Data veteran Donna Adam to run marketing for its global cloud channel.

Adam took up the role of Dimension Data's director of global channel marketing for ITaaS [IT-as-a-service] last week, after spending much of 2014 at Dicker Data, following its acquisition of Express Data earlier this year.

At DiData, she will oversee the "ongoing development of the global marketing strategy and delivery of Dimension Data’s OneCloud Program".

Local partners include Perth-headquartered Amcom, Melbourne-based Rock IT and Sydney's Cavalry. As a global role, Adam reports into Pam Casale, senior VP of marketing for ITaaS, in Washington DC.

Adam told CRN she was excited at the role. "I was part of the Dimension Data group under the banner of Express Data – I was one of the original employees for ComTech – so it is fantastic to go back to the mothership."

She will be joined by several other new recruits in Dimension Data's local cloud team.

Dimension Data’s cloud services are delivered via its "Managed Cloud Platform", and include compute-as-a-service, backup-as-a-service, "TechOps", cloud services for the Microsoft portfolio, including including Exchange, Lync and Sharepoint, as well as a hosted desktop service.

Dimension Data's relationship with Cisco's Intercloud will be a key facet of Adam's position. “Dimension Data’s worldwide cloud model continues to rapidly expand, with our Cisco Intercloud partnership driving significant growth opportunities and increased channel partner engagement,” said Adam Pozniak, senior VP, channel, group ITaaS at Dimension Data.

In October, Peter Prowse, general manager of Dimension Data Australia’s Data Centre Business Unit, divulged some of the group's Intercloud strategy to CRN.

DiData stands to get a considerable boost from Intercloud, with its cloud platform to be resold by Cisco and Cisco’s partner community.

Cisco and its partners will sell two Hybrid Cloud Solution bundles, made up of combinations of Cisco UCS, UCS Director, Cisco Cloud Fabric and a public IaaS subscription - using Dimension Data's infrastructure.
