Dell Technologies has previewed its new generative AI (GenAI) consulting services and range of AI laptops and mobile workstations.
In a webcast for global media last week, the company's VP of client services Jefferson Raley said it will launch "consulting services around employee experience for GenAi."
Dell Technologies' Digital Employee Experience Services aim to help businesses "identify GenAI use cases" and "understand which of those use cases will have the most value and which of their personas are going to get the most benefit from those technologies."
The services will help businesses understand the needs, preferences and potential impact of GenAI on different user groups, and ensure the right licenses, devices and peripherals are in the right hands to improve spending and productivity.
The services will also provide change management to help businesses drive GenAI adoption and improvement, as well as assistance with measuring the effectiveness of GenAI applications.
New managed services for device refresh offering
Raley also announced Dell's Managed Services for device refresh that provides businesses with planning tools and IP to automate their refresh process.
"...one of the things we find is that a computer may be great for an engineer or a developer for a couple of years, but after a couple of years is maybe lagging performance for them," he said.
"But it could be a wonderful device for a back office user like myself, so we can take the computer back, refurbish it, clean it, put it in stock for that customer and then when they have that need for the next user, we make it available to them."
The service will include demand forecasting and control of end user devices, management of communications with users throughout the refresh process, and incident resolution.
"It's about working with customers to understand...their personas and their roles around PC refresh, and then using the telemetry and the data coming in off the systems to consider things like depreciation schedules, maybe lease return schedules, support contracts, but also things like the PC performance and how is that working for the end user," Raley said.
New AI laptops and workstations
Dell Technologies also previewed its new line-up of Latitude laptops and Precision mobile workstations that feature Intel Core Ultra processors with Intel vPro and are built to "drive AI workloads," the company said.
The new Latitude 7350 Detachable provides "the versatility of a tablet, but the performance of a laptop all packed into the same device," Dell Technologies' VP and GM of commercial notebooks Kevin Terwilliger said.
The Latitude 7350 Detachable features a user-facing 8MP HDR camera amongst other detachables for high-quality picture in challenging lighting conditions.
The fully refreshed Latitude portfolio features updates across 5000, 7000 and 9000 series, including the Latitude 7350/7450 Ultralights 13.3” and 14” laptops.
Dell Technologies said its new mobile and fixed Precision workstations provide "the power to run complex AI workloads securely and cost effectively on the PC."
The Precision mobile workstations feature NVIDIA RTX 500 and 1000 Ada Generation Laptop GPUs to "deliver the AI capabilities and enterprise reliability to work from anywhere," while the Precision 3280 Compact Form Factor is "built for light AI development and creative applications."
Dell Technologies also announced the Premier Wireless ANC Headset that features AI-based noise canceling microphones that distinguish human speech from background noises and adjusts the level of noise cancellation based on the user’s environment.
It also features a smart sensor that performs tasks like mute and unmute as well as pause and play when either earcup is lifted.
“Every company that wants to remain competitive will have to implement AI in some way, and AI PCs will be central to that,” president of Dell Technologies' client solutions group Sam Burd said.
“From running complex AI workloads on workstations to using day-to-day AI-powered applications on laptops, the AI PC will be an important investment that pays dividends in productivity and paves the way to a smarter, more efficient future."
"Dell’s advantage starts with offering more AI PCs across the commercial portfolio from day one, giving customers the ability to start future proofing for AI today.”
