Datto has moved into a new Australian headquarters that can accommodate 130 staff – more than double its current headcount.
James Bergl, the business continuity vendor’s APAC director of sales, told CRN he plans to quickly fill the empty desks with partner success officers and local support people.
Partner success people don’t have a sales role. Instead they are Datto customers’ first point of call with the company for matters ranging from billing to assistance deploying sales and marketing assets. Bergl told CRN Datto needs more of them because it is signing managed service providers (MSPs) at a rate of about 50 each month and just needs more staff to make sure they’re happy.
Adding local support, Bergl added, will improve responsiveness for customers and help to fuel growth.
The company currently serves 1200 MSPs in Australia and New Zealand. The new office is in central Sydney - Level 25, 161 Sussex Street to be precise – and covers two floors. The Sydney office will remain Datto’s local hub, with satellite offices in Victoria and Queensland helping to spread the love.
