Datacom Group has recorded a 9.3 percent year-on-year revenue increase to hit NZ$1.27 billion (A$1.19 billion), boasting 20 years of continuous revenue growth.

The trans-Tasman solutions provider noted revenues had more than doubled in the past 10 years, sporting a compound annual growth rate of 8.5 percent across that time. Group profit after tax for the financial year ending 31 March 2018 was $22.2 million, down from the $40.1 million it recorded the prior year.

The results account for Datacom’s 36 locations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the US. The latest financial report will also mark the last under the company’s old structure, which was shaken up this year to do away with state-centric businesses and to rejig the company’s leadership roster. Staff numbers were up 9.3 percent to 5332.

The MSP reported and 8.8 percent revenue increase in Australia and a 9.8 percent revenue increase from its New Zealand business. Key projects wins highlighted included the Department of Home Affairs and Vector Energy in Australia.

“Datacom’s strategy and new organisational structure positions us well to meet current and future client needs, as well as future growth across all markets,” group chief executive Greg Davidson said.

“We’re confident in our ability to capitalise on strategic growth areas such as cybersecurity and customer experience, and our ability to deliver high-value solutions consistently to our customers.”

Datacom earned the majority of its revenue through its Systems business, particularly through managed services projects, third-party products and licensing and custom software development, the company reported.

Earlier this month Microsoft named Datacom as one of the first 32 providers around the world to achieve it’s newest partner accreditation, Azure Expert MSP, with Datacom Australia commercial managing director Bob Peebles saying at the time: “Datacom is proud to be accredited as a Microsoft Azure Expert MSP, one of the few globally. We are a foundational partner, providing feedback as part of the initial pilot program which led to the development of this certification.”
