Data#3 has deployed an Aruba wireless network solution to Brisbane-based John Paul College.
The network will serve more than 2000 students, plus teachers, with the aim of making a collaborative learning experience, and connecting all users seamlessly from anywhere on the school campus.
“We strive to deliver an immersive technology experience for our number one priority — our students,” John Paul College director of ICT Jan MacNamara said.
“The solution not only improves the overall learning and teaching experience, but also delivers significant efficiency and productivity benefits to educators, students and visitors alike.”
MacNamara added that the college’s existing network couldn’t support its ambition to deliver an immersive technology experience for the students, aside from the coverage, performance and access issues.
“What’s more, we need to give teachers the ability to deliver a rich and collaborative pedagogical experience,” she said.
“This requires technology that supports modern teaching and learning practices.”
The Aruba solution provides high-density network coverage and security, as well as data visibility and control of the more than 3000 devices in the college.
It incorporated wave 2 wireless network clusters and security to manage the wireless network and access points. Aruba AirWave was implemented for real-time data insights, while Aruba ClearPass was used for device control.
“The opportunity for more personalised and improved student outcomes in this new age of learning is immense. It’s fantastic to see innovative solutions assisting students and teachers,” Data#3 national practice manager for education David Wain said.
“It’s been a pleasure working with the team at John Paul College, and we look forward to continuing to help them achieve their Anywhere Classroom.”
Data#3’s Anywhere Classroom provides a framework for managing mobility in an education setting, and a roadmap of how to get there.
