Canon Australia has bolstered its business division's direct sales team with the appointment of two former HP print executives to senior management roles.
Former HP veteran Innes Thomson (pictured) has joined the division as senior general manager of direct sales, while Paul Vella has taken on the assistant general manager role for Managed Document Services.
Canon's business division includes document management services and hardware sales.
According to his Linkedin profile Thomson had been the APJ alliance head of managed enterprise solutions at HP since August, before departing the company in October.
Prior to his most recent HP role, Thomson helped start HP’s Managed Print Service (MPS) in the region. He has 22 years' industry experience working across Xerox (UK), Fuji Xerox and HP.
Meanwhile, Vella had worked in the Communications, ICT and Print industries for over 22 years. While at HP, he launched HP’s Office Print Solutions Partner program.
Craig Manson, director of Canon Business Imaging at Canon Australia said Canon was making “brave and bold” moves to become the market leader in print and document management.
“These appointments send a strong message to the market and position Canon to achieve its market leadership goals,” he said.
This year Canon signed a national managed services agreement with CSG.
