Brightpoint signed a distribution agreement with Skype handheld device specialist, European Consulting and Computer Business (ECCB), in an attempt to cash in on the growing popularity of the Internet phone service.
The deal would see Brightpoint Australia distribute ECCB devices including Skype certified Simply Phones.
This agreement was part of its parent company’s similar agreement authorising Brightpoint North America to initially distribute ECCB products in the Americas with a provision to include additional geographies in the future—which was signed in October last year.
Felix Wong, managing director, Brightpoint Australia claims the distribution agreement with ECCB is part of the company's expansion in the VoIP services market.
