Resellers, especially in regional areas, have been keen to take up the ASI servers based on Intel reference designs, claimed Ken Lowe managing director at ASI.
He believes many partners want to focus on delivering the business (software) solutions that their customers require and to be relieved of the technical configuration.
“The channel partners clearly work in verticals varying from medical, to retail to production houses,” he said. “Once they settle on a configuration they are then comfortable with the delivery of their proven application solution which can be quickly replicated for similar customers.”
Lowe claims some partners choose to load their own OS and perform installations while others prefer ASI to deliver the entire offering including installation, on-site warranty and managed services.
“The extension of services to 24 x 7 is being requested by resellers who need a partner who can offer service desk and on-site services across A/NZ. ASI has implemented a 24 x 7 service desk based on ITIL standards and now supports major retail clients expanding into Canada, New Zealand and Northern America,” he said.
According to Lowe, ASI has expanded its managed services offering to include remote management of all devices in the customer’s network. In 07, ASI invested in the Canberra Data Centres (CDC) in ACT which officially opened in May and will offer clients a hosted, green secure data centre service.
“The major success has been with the new ASI Intel Modular Server based on Intel’s Multi-flex Server Technology,” he said. “This ‘business in a box’ is an integrated scalable solution for SMB clients.”
