Anittel clinches school deals worth up to $2 million

Inabox's IT services arm Anittel has clinched contracts worth up to $2 million with three Western Australian schools.

The wins mean Anittel now has more than 45 private and independent school contracts in the state – including the three new agreements with Kingsway Christian College, Mandurah Baptist College and Peter Carnley Anglican Community School.

The latest deals are two-year contracts.

Anittel's Sam Meegahage attributed the end of the federally funded Digital Education Revolution (DER) to the focus schools are placing on BYOD.

“As the schools’ technology demands grow so will the innovation in the classroom. It‘s exciting to be part of this sector,” said Meegahage, Anittel’s regional manager for Western Australia.

As well as hardware and software procurement, Anittel supports desktops, notebooks, iPads, serverss, storage, networking and wireless infrastructure for schools. The company also supplies learning programs for teachers.

Anittel's "embedded" staff work full time on campus, supported by offsite teams. Supplied vendors include Cisco, Dell and Apple hardware and Microsoft and VMWare software.

The wins follow last week's announcement of the closure of Anittel's North Sydney office and staff redundancies, in the aftermath of January's acquisition by wholesale telco provider Inabox.

Inabox recently reported it expects Anittel’s earnings before interest, depreciation, interest and amortisation (EBITDA) to break even on a monthly basis in the second half of the 2015 financial year. Anittel had previously reported years of overall losses.
