Accenture scores Defence's PostingConnect project

The Department of Defence has named Accenture as the delivery partner of its PostingConnect project, an initiative from the department to help ADF members relocate.

The $9.7 million contract was awarded following a “comprehensive” tender evaluation process, beating out two other competing bids.

Details of the other bidders were not disclosed, other than all three being sourced from the Department of Defence Information Communications Technology Provider Arrangement panel.

PostingConnect is an initiative to help improve and simplify the overall posting experience, automating and integrating Defence and partner processes. The project aims to support Defence families in “establishing a new life and home” in their posting locality.

According to a department spokesperson, Accenture’s proposal “provided Defence with a quality value for money proposition across all identified evaluation criteria and project deliverables.”

The spokesperson added that some 15 to 20 Accenture staff will be working on the project throughout the contract’s entire duration. The contract was awarded in November 2019 and is expected to finish on November 2022.

As reported by CRN sister publication iTnews, Defence completed a technology trial of PostingConnect in May 2018. The trial involved 500 personnel and was run between December 2017 and January 2018.

The report also said the trial used a cloud-based ServiceNow instance.
