Melbourne-based Virage IT developed a platform that provides invoice and payment automation for ConnectWise in 2012, with the aim of creating an improved accounting tool.
Named Wise Sync, its invoice and payment automation capabilities bridge the gap between global payment processing platforms and professional service automation platforms like ConnectWise.
“Customers need the ability to get paid on time using multiple payment options while reducing the effort required to manage these processes,” Wise Sync said.
“Using Wise-Sync’s invoice automation, the average MSP who processes more than 500 invoices per month, will save in excess of $31,500 per year. This number increases exponentially as more invoices are processed through the platform.”
Virage, now part of PowerNet Solutions, spun out Wise Sync in 2013 to commercialise the system, with the intention of pairing it with cloud accounting software.
The platform has continued to grow both at home and abroad.
Wise Sync now has support for another professional service application Autotask and for cloud accounting software Xero and QuickBooks Online. It also boasts of 500 partners in nine different countries, processing some 110,000 records every month.
This expansion was achieved through a sales-led partnership model with ConnectWise, targeting managed service providers in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, the US and Canada with 1-100 employees. Much of the marketing efforts have been focused on the ConnectWise Marketplace, where Wise Sync is sold.
Wise Sync also has a primary engagement with the ConnectWise community by sponsoring its flagship event IT Nation, which attracts 3000 partners each year, as well as local user group events.
MacNeill said the platform evolved from a basic synchronisation service to a fully-fledged invoice and payment automation suite.
“The business has grown to understand the errors that reduce confidence in payment automation systems and provides and innovative solutions, enabling businesses to streamline and automate their processes and increase efficiency,” MacNeill said.
This year, the sales and marketing model will be shifting towards an inbound software-as-a-service approach and launch an insights hub. Wise Sync has also made further investments in expanding to the US.
Wise Sync is a finalist in the 'Exporting Innovation' category in the 2019 CRN Impact Awards. For a list of all finalists and further details on the awards, please head to the CRN Impact Awards hub.
