When did your company first get involved in this area?
We have been providing some form of data centre and hosting services for more than 10 years.
What are your credentials around hosting data centre services?
We hold a variety of certifications. The vendors we work with and their technologies play a critical part in the customer value chain, so we maintain our certifications in these areas.
Have you heard about any interesting trends in this space lately?
The focus on automation, management and visibility of nearly all aspects of data centre offerings is interesting to watch. Monitoring management data that many years ago would not be readily available is now accessible by the end customer online and in real time, providing full end-to-end visibility of their services.
Can you tell us about a recent deployment you have been involved in?
The majority of our deployments are around customers migrating applications to our cloud and hosting offerings. This usually involves bundling a combination of WAN, internet, network, security, hosting, cloud, telephony and management to deliver a business outcome.
What is driving customers' uptake around these services?
The key message we are getting from our midmarket customers is that they want to focus more on their business and less on running their standard IT. In this regard, we are seeing a high demand for managed hosting and data centre services to provide these standard IT outcomes.
Data centres are… ?
