Venom Computers: This is how the PC should be done

With design and product director Jaan Turon

What games devices and PC brands do you specialise in?

Venom first started making performance computers specifically for engineers and architects. These applications rely heavily on speed and reliability. This combination obviously appeals to serious gamers, although our customers are still mostly professionals and business users. We also make high-performance notebook computers.

When did your company first get involved in this area?

Venom has been making desktop computers since the late 2000s. In 2012, we made our first Venom BlackBook notebook, which has been a multi-award-winning success.

What credentials and certifications does your business have?

We are an Intel global partner, as well as a Microsoft OEM partner. Through our global value chain, we have various offices and partners throughout the US west coast, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Turkey, Scandinavia and, of course, Australia.

Which distributors do you use?

Our distributor is fellow Australian company Dicker Data. We reach our customers via our trusted partners – Venom computers are only available through authorised Venom resellers.

What are the most interesting new developments in performance PCs?

The recent rhetoric about how the “PC is dead” has given Venom a huge opportunity to show the big players how the PC should be done: with great, highly functional designs. Next up is our slimline semi-rugged 2-in-1 laptop with embedded retractable handle, followed by our take on the detachable 2-in-1 business device.

Can you tell us about a recent deployment?

We recently partnered with a major architectural firm in setting up its design studio. In another notable deployment, we supplied Ultrabooks to executives at a defence contractor.

What factors are driving customers in this area?

Our customers want their PCs to give them an edge and allow them to do whatever they need to do to enhance their business. The race to the bottom in the PC industry has mostly played out, and we at Venom continue to focus on what has worked for us – and we never attempt anything unless we believe we can do it amazingly well.

Gaming devices are…

What some of our customers use their Venom BlackBooks as after hours.
