MyNetFone launches short-term internet contract aimed at renters

VoIP network provider and telco MyNetFone has launched an internet plan specifically for Australian renters.

The Renters Internet Plan comes with unlimited DSL service relocations on a six-month contract. The bundle is priced at $49 per month and comes with 500GB of data and a free modem.

MyNetFone also charges an additional $99 setup fee and $16.95 for modem shipping.

Chief executive Rene Sugo said this is the first plan directly targeted towards renters in the Australian market.

“The plan delivers all the benefits renters require: low commitment, low cost and high data allowance, combined with complete flexibility which enables them to take the Renters Plan with them when they move at zero additional cost,” said Sugo.

“The new plan directly addresses the needs of renters and is the first in the Australian market to meet their requirements and alleviate their frustrations.”

MyNetFone cited studies claiming 2.6 million households are currently renting in Australia. In the last decade, the number of Australian renters has increased by 13 percent for low income and 19 percent for middle income.
